Recycling

Have you ever thought about what happens to old sofas that are put out for council collections or taken to the local tip? They end up as landfill – an environmental problem!

Refreshing

Before a sofa gets to the recyclable stage, *King-Care service can extend the life and usefulness of your sofa.

*King-Care (www.king-care.com) will send a service team to clean, repair or refresh your sofa. Trained experts will refill cushions, cope with stains, repair where necessary and return your sofa almost to its new condition.

Every King Furniture sofa has a completely removable cover. You don’t have to change your sofa to completely change the look. When you have chosen your preferred new fabric or leather, the covers will be made up and then brought to your home and fitted by *King-Care experts.

Some people like a seasonal change for their sofas – something light and bright for summer days, perhaps the luxurious warmth of leather, or the cosiness of King-Cord for autumn and winter. Our *King-Care team will re-fit your covers when you are ready for change. King Furniture regularly recovers furniture from up to thirty years ago.

Towards Environmental Sustainability

At King Furniture our focus is on making as much of our process as environmentally friendly as possible. Environmental initiatives include:

• Recyclable and biodegradable materials are used wherever possible. Steel frames recycle and many cushion fillings are biodegradable.
• Flexible designs mean designs transform easily with different arrangements suiting different spaces. Arms on sofas and chaises can be positioned right or left and shapes can be changed to suit new moods and places.
• King Furniture components are easily assembled without tools, allowing for transportation in nearly half the space of conventional sofas. This results in a substantial reduction in carbon miles. The components are packaged in recyclable cardboard boxes, eliminating the need for inefficient, plastic packaging. King Furniture arrives fresh without the tell-tale signs of container damage – a major problem with ordinary furniture.
• Strong steel frames and steel suspension provide the best possible foundation for long term comfort and support. King Furniture ‘wears-in’ as ordinary furniture is wearing out.
• King Furniture’s clean, confident styling – free of fads and fashion driven ornamentation, contributes to its long life.
• The removable cover system means that King Furniture components can be easily separated for recycling. As a participant in the *King-Care trade-in initiative, at the end of its life, your old King sofa can be picked up and properly recycled.
